Specimen notes
Public Note:
Leucopaxillus sp. Pileus 7.5cm, applanate and centrally depressed to rather infundibuliform, dry, felted to depressed tomentose, brownish grey(c 4B3-C3) margins slightly incurved. Stipe slightly eccentric , solid, 2cm long, 7mm diam. velutinate to tomentose, brownish grey apically, paler to dull greyish basally. Gills deeply decurrent, simple, 1-2-3-4 series prsenet in rather strict order, dull clay with purplish tints (near 3A3 but duller with tints c 11B2). Spore print creamy-white when fresh.
R.F.R. McNabb
Public Note:
The spores here are inamyloid, allantoid 4 x 2 and the gills have large pointed cystidia on gill edge and face. This is clearly Panus purpuratus.
