Public Note:
Very long, white hairs with finely roughened walls, excipulum of short-cyliondric to more or less globvose cells about 7-8 µm diam. with walls slightly thickened. Paraphyses broad-lanceolate, up to 5 µm diam., tapering to narrow apex about 20-30 µm beyond asci; asci 45-50 x 5-6 µm, taper suddenly to small, truncate apex, walls lghtly thick at apex, intense J+ pore, 8-spored; ascospores 10-11 x 1.5 µm, taper slightly to rounded ends, cylindric, straight, 0-septate. Keys to L. brevisporum in Spooner, but this species with barely differentiated paraphyses.
