Specimen notes
Public Note:
Seggedin use of Singer's Argentine name Mycena austroavenacea. Dried dark brown and with orange gills, so not like lividorubra, rubroglobulosa or podocarpi. The cheilo are more filamentous and less pigmented than these two species, but possibly part of a continuum. Subcutis of non dextrinoid spherical cells with surface of long diverticulae. spores length=5.3–6.6µm (µ=6.0, σ=0.39), width=3.1–3.8µm (µ=3.4, σ=0.16), Q=1.5–1.9µm (µ=1.74, σ=0.10), n=20. No pleurocystidia. I believe this is part of a continuum that covers M. austroavenacea, sensu Seggedin, lividorubra and podocarpi, for which I will use the name lividorubra. Mycena kurramulla (1997) from Australia is perhaps a later synonym
