Specimen notes
Public Note:
This material looks like it was a poorly dried specimen which has subsequently been entirely degraded by mould. It is not possible to retrieve any morphological characters. There is a however a copious pink spore print which supports the identity as a Pluteus. Given the number of P. petasatus-like indigenous taxa this must remain a questionable identification and I will assign just Pluteus sp. and remove the name from the NZ list. EH has seen this specimen but made no comment.
