Specimen notes
Public Note:
material considered by Segedin in her paper. Dried material is brown and has tan strogose hairs at stem base. 4-spored. Pleurocystidia = cheilocystidia are awl-shaped and deciduous. Cap diverticulae barely visible, and ditto ornamentation on stem. Broad vesicles visible in stem in KOH. Certainly cystidia not like M. mariae. spores length=8.3–10.2µm (µ=9.1, σ=0.60), width=5.9–7.4µm (µ=6.6, σ=0.44), Q=1.2–1.6µm (µ=1.40, σ=0.12), n=22. Has same cystidia as some material as M. subfragillima (but those without violin shape). Types of M. subfragillima and morris-jones need comparing with these specimens.
