Specimen notes
Public Note:
Description of pateriforme of sessile apothecium, spores 30 µm. PDD 30804 of quite robust, stipitate fungus, outside of receptacle with finely ornamented appearance (similar to Lanzia griseliniae etc); baser of stipe arising from pad of yellowish tissue on host surface; no sign of stromatic tissue. Excipulum of short cylindric to globose cells with walls hyaline, slightly thickeken; outer most cells of the excipular elements more or less free, more or less globose, thin-walled, forming a more or less mealy layer. Asci cylindric, about 200 x 14 µm, 8-spored, overlapping 1-seriate, tapering to broad-substruncate apex, wall thickened, J+. Ascospores 32-36 x 6.5-7.5 µm, oblong-elliptic, tapering to both quite narrow-rounded ends, widest point slightly towards apical end, in side view flattened and curved. Some spores within the asci have a suggestion of a gel cap or sheath.
