Note:
For specimens collected by J.M. Dingley, if she left the Determiner field blank, it means that the determination was uncertain.
Public Note:
Joan's notes: "Under leptospermum. Pileus plane to markedly infundibuliform, 1-4cm diam. Very viscid, smooth, pale pinkish fawn, darker towards centre, margin striate. Gills markedly decurrent, very thick, partly reticulated, ... cream. Stipe 2-3cm long x 2-6mm. fawn at apex, yellow at base. Stuffed. Flesh somewhat lighter than cap." [JAC] The accompanying slide had a severely shifted colour balance which the digital version has attempted to correct, but perhaps not adequately. The material has inamyloid spores, appearing granular but smooth (SEM at 8k x), length=6.7–8.6µm (µ=7.7, σ=0.45), width=4.4–6.0µm (µ=5.2, σ=0.38), Q=1.3–1.8µm (µ=1.48, σ=0.13), n=20, basidia 4-6 spored, long basidia, a mixed trama, and broad clamps on the hyphae. It is clearly a Cantharellus and is not C. wellingtonensis or C. elsae.
