Specimen notes
Note:
This is the only material representing an un re-combined Secotium in NZ. The fragmented remains have the appearance of a typical brown secotioid Thaxterogaster (in the original sense). The spores are thick-walled, without germ pore and there are many elongate odd-shaped spores. The spores are smooth, so not Cortinarioid. No obvious candidate alternatives. Cf Horak's Nivatogastrium
