38-62 mm across. Grey-blue cap with egg-yellow to orange cap centre in mature specimens. Young specimesn metallic blue-grey with smaller egg-yellow centre of disc. Viscid cap. Flesh: Pale creamy white, lilac-blue / grey in flesh at stipe apex. Lamellae: Lilac, blue-gray. Stipe: 33-74 x 6.5-10 mm, clavate, to elongate bulbous, lilac in young specimens, cream in older.
