Specimen notes
Public Note:
56 x 50 mm (large) to 10 x 15 mm (small) across. Dry, Dark matte brown throughout, with paler yellowish brown in cap center and bands of darker brown to margin. The center of disk is felty, perhaps with velar material. When rubbed, the color is glossy dark purple-brown. Flesh: Purple when young, lilac to cream when older. In young specimsn there is a darker purple in cap context Lamellae: Purple in young specimens, dark purple brown with orange tones in age. Stipe: 30-55 x 4-8 mm, clavate to slightly bulbous, silky cream over lilac purple, bright purple when scraped.
