Specimen notes
Public Note:
Cap 50 mm wide. Dry, depressed at center. Rugose to wrinkled, more radial than concentric, but not strongly so. A remarkable mix of dark amethyst purple, hunter green, bright yellow in mottled blotches. Purple around margin, yellow at center, with dark olive band halfway out.
Gills ivory to cream, soon developing a yellow wash. All reaching stipe. Margins even, a few partially marginate with reddish purple.
Stipe 39 x 14 mm. Cylindrical, straight. Surface with blush pink to purplish wash over ivory ground color. Insect damage holes developing strong yellow tones.
Taste and odor indistinct. KOH tangerine orange on cap.
