Specimen notes
Public Note:
Cap 10-22 mm. Broadly convex to plane. Velutinous, dark blackish-red at center, paler deep mahogany red outwards. Gillss whitish, finely attached.
Stipe 28-35 x 1-2 mm. Stipe fading from pallid beige at apex down through ochre at midpoint to orangey brown at base. Base with patch of white rhizomorphs in 'pom pom'.
