Public Note:
Cortinarius "Slender Purple White Chevrons" Cap convex with incurved margin, perhaps with obscure very broad round umbo. Dry, smooth, radially silky-silvery. Amethyst to grayish, margin with thick band of whitish to silvery PV fibrils. Gills slightly thick-edged, fairly close, broad. Finely notched. Dull deep purple. Stipe to 42 mm tall, 3 mm thick. Surface with copious coating of silvery whitish fibrils, vertically arranged but forming strong chevrons over lower half. Partial veil evanescent or visible as veil zone at midpoint. Flesh deep amethyst purple, thin, with cylindrical central hollow throughout. KOH negative. Taste indistinct. Odor indistinct. Fruiting under Nothofagus in moss.
