Specimen notes
Public Note:
Cap 9-20 mm wide. Broadly convex or nearly plane-convex even when young; at maturity developing a central depression. Surface with a complex mix of concentric zones and radially arranged dark brown fibrils contrasting with creamy or light yellowy beige ground color. Margin strongly translucent-striate at maturity. Gills subdistant to distant. Dull, pale lilac when very young, becoming dingy tan to light grayish. Deep, ventricose, slightly thick-edged. Stipe 33-55 mm x 1.5-3 mm. Dingy light yellowish tan or washed-out lilac when young. Smoothish, with vertically twisted-striate fibrils. KOH rxn nil. Taste indistinct. Odor indistinct. Fruiting in humus under Nothofagus.
