Uncommon. Noted emerging from fallen branchlets in coastal forest dominated by pohutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa), rawiri (Kunzea linearis) and mapou (Myrsine australis), Fruiting body greyish, rather hard, 40 mm tall when fresh.
