Cap 43-67 mm across, dry, tuberculate-striate, gills creamy whitish, becomign brownish speckled, stipe 56-75 mm long 12-16 mm thick, slowly staining brownish when handled, almond cyanide odor, slowly but strongly bitter acrid taste. Stipe with many hollow pockets young (17), hollow overall in age.
