Cap 12-25 mm across, moist to dry, deep red when young, fading slightly with age, with fine appressed scales and hairs over disc, gills lighter red with paler edges, stipe 35-69 mm long, 3-6 mm thick, concolorous with cap, base paler, not fading, no odor, taste mild. [JAC:20/06/2023] cap redder than other rubrocarnosa. Requires a check.
