Habitat: Cap 15-32 mm across, coursely velvety to matted-tomentose, stipes fragile, decurrent, 1-4 mm long, stipe 10-29 mmlong, 4-9 mm thick, off-center to lateral, flesh brittle in cap, tough in stipe, pale creamy peach, odor and taste indistinct. [JAC:9/08/2023] the type of H. crocidens var. badium was with tea-tree. This is the beech version.
