Specimen notes
Public Note:
Cap 6-19 mm across, tacky/sticky, glabrous, translucent-striate around margin when wet, hygrophanous, ornage-brown. Gills adnate or with a decurrnet tooth, close, narrow, edges even, partial gills in 2-3 series, intervinose. Stipe 18-51 mm long, 1-2 mm thick, tough, wiry, distinctly pruiose over lower portion, scattered appressed fibrils near apex. Odor and taste indistinct. Flesh very thin, concolorous. Seen in three places along peninsula Track; a medium-sized (30 cm) standning dead beech tree (I think Silver), with scattered fruitings on wounds on lower trunk. 2nd was a young (~10 cm) beech on trailside which had been cut at ~1 m. Growing out of the cup portion on the top of the snag. 3rd was a single fruitbody from wound of a large, living silver beech on trunk about 2 m up. Despite walking for ~5km along southeast side of lake, with a search image later the same day, it was not observed. Habitat: Scattered and in small clusters on truck of medium-sized dead (Red or Silver) Beech
