Specimen notes
Public Note:
host is Q. palustris I think, rather than Q. ellipsoidalis. Ammonia reaction -ve, flesh turning coppery. If this is P. cuprinus then it overturns the rule that cuprinus only with betulaceae. The stem is purple blotched (= obscurisporus), but small for that. Spore print brown 7E5 somalis. Spore colours: involutus - yellow brown to grey brown, obscurisporus (note, not obscurosporus) - red brown, ammoniavirescens - yellow brown to to olive brown, cuprinus - ochre to reddish brown. [JAC:19/08/2022] sequence says ammoniavirescens so the test doesn't always work.
