Specimen notes
Public Note:
[DW] hree patches of stinkhorns. Not strong fotid aroma, although flies clearly found it easily enough as many had flies landing on them. Large egg sack remaining on stem. Some had a white tip, I assumed this was a part of the egg sack that had been pushed out by the tip and had stuck. However some also had a white color on the tip and no egg sack. So maybe the white color isn't the sack. Located on the Southern boundary of a council planting. This grove of lemonwoods, has reached maturity and is now dying. There were three dead or dying lemonwoods and the clusters of frb's were about the trunk of each tree. Thus indicating they were feeding on the lemonwood roots. [JAC:5/10/2022] sequence not same as another deposited as M. ravenelii , but is same as a Kuo M. caninus var. albus, which seems unlikley given the colouration here.
