Specimen notes
Public Note:
in bark chips under restoration planting. Gills crowded and grey maturing chocolate. Odour indistinct - mushroomy. Cap finely tomentose. KOH initially no reaction. Eventually KOH yellow on cap and pinkish on flesh. AA+ve (pale violet). Annulus leaving appendiculate fragments on the cap edge. On the stem it forms a descending skirt-like ring in a wedge-shape with a descending lower edge, and with a torn fimbriate edge. Copious basal rhizoids and primordia. Gill edge hite sterile with CC but not chained, clavate. Spores 6.6 x 5um.BDHLOP+AA+T. Possibly 'Isel Park' ? Sequence says bisporus so my KOH/AA incorrect. Jut shows - always woth checking if 2 spored.
