Specimen notes
Public Note:
[LAC] Moss Orange/yellow cap, stem, gills [JAC] a singleton and suprisingly near fuscoaurantiaca in an N-J tree. LSU near/same as jac10728 [JAC:18/11/2022] [JAC:18/11/2022] sequence near/same as PDD 87884, Clive, as H. cavipes, and from the photo much more yellow. Here the gills are emarginate with a decurrent tooth. The pileus and stipe appear dry from the photo. Horak's group A. (cavipes is group C - pileus viscid, gills nearly free). Noting that PDD 87884 certainly appears viscid. Here 4-spored, no cystidia, spores 7.7 x 4.5. If you assume free gills and viscid cap then cavipes it would be. However this collection seems better in group A where you would land on H. elegans. It does't fit that either.
