Public Note:
[NS ]Russula (large grayish). Scattered in duff and moss, from soil, under beech . Cap (25 button) 69 mm across, dark purplish gray, soft, appearing finely velvety, gills forked at stipe, distinctly marginate around margins, faintly so mid-to-stipe, stipe (28 mm long, 8 mm thick on button) 55 mm long, 16 mm thick at apex, densely, very finely punctate, purplish when young, to gray. flesh very firm, dense, white, unchanging, taste mild. UV light cap red-brown with some greenish tones towards margin, gills bright yellowish green, stipe brown with yellow undertone.
