[NS ]Cortinarius urusus .Scattered, from soil, and around a decaying stump, under beech . Cap 43-65 mm across, (much larger, ~150 mm seen in field), young with UV fibrils covering disc, soon scaly, in concentric rings, stipe 71-92 mm long, 13-26 mm thick at apex, swollen lower, then tapered to slightly rooting base, flesh deep violet at edges in stipe apex, No odor, taste sweet, KOH dark blackish brown on cap, no other reaction.
