Specimen notes
Public Note:
[NS]Scattered in duff, in mixed podocarp-broadleaf forest. Cap 3-9 mm across, margins faintly ribbed when mature, stipe 21-43 mm long, ~ 1 mm thick, silky under lens, base with tuft of whitish mycelium, no odor. KOH grass green on cap. [JAC] sequence is Gymnopus cockaynei. Is this a mixed collection? A repeat says the same thing. [JAC] On examination of the material it is all the same species. There are signs of yellow basal hyphae and the stipe is pruinose. Microscopically this is, without doubt, a Gymnopus and not Pseudobaeospora. PP dryophila-structure, prominent irregular CC, elongate relatively large spores etc.
