Public Note:
[NS] Clustered around dead Brushtail Possums, decayed to a point where it was mostly bones left, most hair/meat was decayed, but an outline of black smear was visible. Near a possum trap, with multiple bodies (5) spread out had them. Under Silver and Red Beech. Cap 9-33 mm across, violet when very young, fading to grayish violet, and then grayish to grayish white, with darker fibrils and scales, gills lilac gray at first, becoming pale pinkish gray, stipe 24-55 mm long, 1.5-4 mm thick, base with violet mycelium, retaining violet color into age, odor indistinct.
