[NS] Scattered from soil, under beech. Cap 31-59 mm across, with matted fibrils, appressed into tacky cap, very dark, even when young, gills pallid tan, to red brown, stipe 52-91 mm long (base breaking in ground), 6-8 mm thick, hollow, surface with dark fibrils, odor very floral, hyacinth-like, with some raw potato, taste bitter.
