[NS] Scattered and in pairs, on interface between beech forest and tea tree scrub. Cap 32-60 mm across, dry, densely covered with short, tufted fibrillose scales. Gills deeply adnexed, pallid, with brown edges (marginate, or stained on edges? It's consistent) Stipe 39-82 mm long, 4-11 mm thick equal to swollen lower portion, then tapered to base, fibrillose, with scattered scales, dry, yellow discolorations in places. flesh solid, off-white, Odor and taste indistinct. UV light, stipe golden orange, as it yellow portions f flesh, cap orange-brown
