[NS] Clustered from soil, under beech. Cap 34-63 mm across, olivaceous cast when young, and with pallid patches, soon olive brown to brown, with central veil patch on some. Gills pallid, staining red-brown, and aging brownish, stipe 28-41 mm long, 9-15 mm thick, tapering downward, taste and odor indistinct. [JAC] colour shift
