Specimen notes
Public Note:
[GS] Growing on rotten wood in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Caps to 60 mm across. The pale-capped specimens in photos 3 & 4 were growing beneath a large piece of bark. [JAC] This has weakly encrusted cystidia and is identical to the type of Melanoluca/Tricholompsis vinosa, which therefore requires a recombination in Ripartitella. I realised now why I haven't been seeing the encrusted cystidia and it is because the encrusting material is soluble in Melzers.
