Public Note:
[WMD] This small Hygrocybe had a vibrant red-orange cap with a paler margin which became upturned with maturity. The cap surface was like fine sandpaper. The gills were paler cream becoming yellowish and were attached and descending with lots of veins on the face of the lamellae. The stipe is yellow to pale orange. Cap size up to 2.1 cm in diameter and 2.5 cm in height. Growing on soil under mature broadleaf trees in remnant mature coastal forest.
