[WMD] This small Pluteus species has distinct wrinkling in the centre of the cap. The cap is more or less uniform in colour and is convex to flat. Two fruit bodies observed over a one week period on the same wood, both 2.4 cm in diameter and 2.4-2.5 cm in height. The gills are creamy becoming pink with a concolorous edge and the stipe is cream and pruinose. Remnant mature coastal broadleaf forest.NZ version of Pluteus thomsonii. Microscopically cap cells generally pear-shaped with a tapered apex to ovoid intermixed with pigmented cells. Some cheilocystidia with distinct beak-like projection of variable length. Pleurocystidia sparse, some also with beak-like projection. Caulocystida occasionally also with beak-like projection. Same as https://inaturalist.nz/observations/3481627.
