Specimen notes
Public Note:
[WMD] These truffle-like fungi have a cream-pink outer and a khaki inner with brain-like folds. The largest fruit body was 2.3 cm in diameter with others being about 15-18 mm in diameter. They were partially exposed under teatree and have a rooting rhizomorph. Spores appear smooth (not verrucose) about 11.5-12.5 x 5-6 micron. Colour reaction of surface on exposure to iso-propyl alcohol is red. [JAC] sequence same as material I have called H. rupticutis.
