Harrow et al., Fungal Biol. 114: 293-311, 2010 "ICMP8996, which was listed as F. acuminatum, did not group together with other F. acuminatum isolates but instead lay within the phylogenetic outgroup which contained Fusarium graminearum and Fusarium culmorum. Furthermore, ICMP8996 only showed 93 % sequence similarity to EF1α from Fusarium boothii, Fusarium cerealis and Fusarium lunulosporum according to the FUSARIUM_ID database. Therefore, the taxonomy of this isolate remains uncertain."
