On bark of unknown host. Ascospores 15-21 x 4.2-5.5 (avge 19.03 x 4.94, n=23), oblong-elliptic, tapering to narrow ends, flat one side, globose gel caps; asci 115-145 x 8-10 um. Could be the undescribed, wood-inhabiting species from Eucalyptus (provisional anme H. eucalyptoligna) but this specimen seems to have distinctive pale tipped setae, the pore at the ascus apex seems to be more well developed (extending a greater distance through the wall), and the substrate seems to be bark rather than wood. Small collection, Attempted DNA extraction unsuccessful.
