[DP] beech tree bark. [JAC] PP not differentiated, spores globose, minutely ornamented. CC cylindrical. Keys to trulliformis/mutabilis/rufidulus//rufofloccosus. It does not have cap fibrils but does not match C. mutabilis. CC agree with C. rufofloccosus but has no fibrils. Sequence says C. rufofloccosus. Note that trulliformis/rufofloccosus and variegatus appear to be synonyms. The key characters separating them are trulliformis (pp not differentiated), rufofloccosus (pp clavate), variegatus (pp lageniform). Thus the form of the pp is inconsistent, as indicates by Consiglio et al (as are CC characters).
