Specimen notes
Public Note:
[NS] Clustered from soil and well decayed wood, in mixed forest under tree ferns. Caps 7-19 mm across, very viscid, stipe viscid, 26-41 mm long, 1.5-2.5 mm thick, equal to clavate. No odor, taste mild. [JAC] dried pink/orange and not pink like 14976. Spores 8.5 x 5.2. Keys to lilacinoides. Separation from ostrinus not convincing. Also in dried material the gills are decurrent, so then similar to lilacipes, but that with clear cheilocystidi and this definitely does not have cheilos. Material drty. Sequence data suggests if Humidicutis, Porpolomopsis and Gliophorus are maintained as separate genera then this is a gen. nov. within the tribe Humidicuteae. Note that support for the position of various Gliophorous groups is suspect in published papers.
