Specimen notes
Public Note:
[NS] Clavulina (gray monopod). scattered and in small clusters from moss and soil under mountain beech. 35-83 mm high, 1-5 mm thick, gray upper, with white stipe. No odor, taste mild. [JAC] dried grey with white stipe.Clamped. No sign of cystidia under dissecting scope or squash. Spores 10.3 x 8. Keys to C. floridana. Note that Petersen says the type of floridana has clamps, unlike original description.
