Specimen notes
Public Note:
[WD] Group of Agaricus with creamy-beige cap under large mature broadleaf trees, up to 7.5 cm in diameter x 6.5 cm height. Cap fibrous with fibres in small raised scales and distinct depression in centre of cap. Flesh cream-beige and does not stain when bruised. Stipe 9-11 mm with slightly bulbous base. Remnant mature coastal broadleaf forest. [JAC] lamellae efflorescing (already). KOH and AA -ve on dried material. Sequence in Xanthodrmatei near recently described A. karstomyces. Cheilocystidia collapsed in this older material. Spores length=4.8-5.6µm (µ=5.2, σ=0.25), width=3.0-3.8µm (µ=3.4, σ=0.24), Q=1.3-1.8µm (µ=1.55, σ=0.13), n=20
