Public Note:
[GS]Growing on a lawn. Caps to 50 mm across, white overlain with yellowish scales in the centre, cap surface becoming more fawn with age. Gills pale pink, darkening with age, free of stem. Stems whitish with a prominent ring. No change of colour to internal tissues when sliced. [JAC] cap yellow in KOH and pink in AA. Cheilocystidia sparse, clavate, not catenate, ring inferior (nb). Not sure where this will fall. We shall see. It has some of the characteristics of A. subantarcticus, not known from the mainland, but inadequately described by the authors.
