Specimen notes
Public Note:
[GS] Growing on a rotting log in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Sessile fruit bodies up to 30 mm across by 15 mm, fawn-grey. Gills fawn and fawn-grey. Fruit bodies connected by thin white rhizoids within the substrate. [JAC] it has faintly pink spores which are subglobose and smooth at maturity but wrinkled/striate when immature or collapsed. Inamyloid. No obvious cystidia. I'd guess at another Clitopilus sp in the smooth spored group, like C. kamaka. What's interesting is the 'rhizoids' visible in the photo really do seem to be associated with this species. I assumed they were a separate Pterula or similar. See Gen Gates concept of Rhodocybe conchata which doesn't seem to be sensu stricto
