Public Note:
[PL] Cap convex, dark brown, becomin areolate and staining pink flash below, becoming intensley squamulose. Gills free, crowded, pale becoming dark cocoa brown. Stipe somewhat clavate, cylindrical above pendulous ring, swollen below. White above, browining below. Second ring zone near base. Spores 6 x 4um ovoid. Cheilocystidia clavate, thin-walled, smell strong, almond. [JAC] No stipe base scales. Stipe not fibrillose below ring. Sequence not near impudicus sensu stricto or Mitchell's misidentification. Cheilocystidia forming a brown band of sometimes catenate pyriform cells, but in this mature material they are disintegrating. Spores length=5.6-6.6µm (µ=6.0, σ=0.28), width=3.4-4.0µm (µ=3.8, σ=0.19), Q=1.5-1.8µm (µ=1.57, σ=0.09), n=20
