Specimen notes
Public Note:
smell/taste farinaceous. Spore print chocolate brown purplish. Cap venose and sticky. Stipe without ring or remnants. With rhizoids. Pileipellis obviously hymeniderm. Cap dried grey/brown. This is much darker than previous collection but appears to be the same species. Tissue clamped. Cheilos subglobose extending across the lamella as a few pleurocystidia. Some with brown content, reddish in KOH. Spores brown, thick walled, non dextrinoid, with broad germ pore length=12.4-14.1µm (µ=13.2, σ=0.47), width=7.2-8.2µm (µ=7.9, σ=0.25), Q=1.6-1.9µm (µ=1.68, σ=0.07), n=20. No chrysocystidia. Caulocystidia not observed. The sequence data for the previous collection places it in an isolated position. From NZ-only trees it has support for a relationship to the psathyrellaceae and not the rest of Agrocybe, or Cyclocybe.
