Public Note:
Emergent through soil. Gills pink. Smell slightly phenolic (TCP). KOH-ve, AA -ve, even on young fruitbodies. Pileus shaggy dark brown. Stem all white, not squamulose at base. No tissue reddening or yellowing. Then also this might be A. horakii but only the pileus fits the notion of Lanagaricus. Sequence indicates pseudochitonia near Prices valley but clearly not the same. Cheilocystidia pyriform, not in chains. Spores length=5.0-5.9µm (µ=5.5, σ=0.25), width=3.1-3.9µm (µ=3.5, σ=0.23), Q=1.4-1.7µm (µ=1.56, σ=0.10), n=20
