Public Note:
In red zone gardens. Gills without pink. Odour nil to slightly phenolic. No reddening of flesh. KOH weakly +ve, AA -ve. Ring forming a collar, pendant, smooth above and below. Context to 8mm thick. Cap diam. to 7cm. Cap grey to light brown, initially smooth becoming squamulose at the disk. Section xanthodermatei. Cheilocystidia uncommon and thin-walled only visible on immature gills. Spores length=5.1-6.5µm (µ=5.8, σ=0.36), width=3.3-4.5µm (µ=3.9, σ=0.24), Q=1.3-1.6µm (µ=1.49, σ=0.11), n=20
