Specimen notes
Public Note:
[GS] Growing on disturbed soil near a river. Caps to 40 mm across, red-brown, radially striate near the margin. Gills pinkish, turning brown with age. Spore print dark brown/black. [JAC] The pale caps on the dried material immediately says this is a psathyrella. The dominant red colours in the photo didn't trigger my 'psathyrella neuron' but it's reasonable. It has utriform pleuro and cheilocystidia and large spores, around 17um. In the wider literature it keys to P. pseudogracilis. In my key it would come to P. prona, but I can't check for rhizoids at the stem base - the stem base isn't in the photos and specimens have cut stems.
