Public Note:
[WMD] Small agarics on a fallen log with a dark black-brown (when young) to dark brown velvety cap with a strongly inrolled margin (when young), slightly incurved when older. Gills light brown coloured with cystidia visible on gill edge with the naked eye. Cap size up to 2 cm in diameter x 2.5 cm height. Stipe light tan colour, velvety, about 5 mm diameter. Sporeprint colour cinnamon brown. Remnant mature coastal broadleaf forest. [JAC] Probably S. pruinata. Certainly Simocybe. The issue is that there are two other similar species which Horak has yet to publish. The spores of this are closer in size to something that will be called S. largispora, but that isn't pruinose and this certainly is. Not enough material for a sequence unfortunately.
