Specimen notes
Public Note:
[GS] Small mushrooms growing in soil/leaf litter in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Caps mostly 8-15 mm across, cream, usually slightly tan-coloured in the centre, sometimes with an umbo. Gills cream, tending to go more orange with age. Stems tan near the top with scattered whitish scales, becoming generally whiter towards the base. [JAC] this has weakly dextrinoid spores on the cap and I thought it was a Rhodocollybia. It turns out to be Tricholomataceae and basal to Porpoloma, Dermoloma and Tricholoma. Gen. nov. Looks like a Pseudobaesospora. Pileipellis a broad glassy clamped cutis. Lamellae relatively thick, with cheilcocystidia. Cap no change in KOH/NH4OH. Spore, excluding apiculus, length=3.8-5.0µm (µ=4.3, σ=0.30), width=2.5-3.7µm (µ=3.2, σ=0.32), Q=1.1-1.8µm (µ=1.35, σ=0.16), n=23. Same as jac14246 and related to 9968.
