Specimen notes
Public Note:
[GS] Growing on a mossy bank beside a track in broadleaf-podocarp forest. Cap 20 mm across, grey with a rough surface, whitish at the margin. Stem and gills white. [JAC] From material: Not dried dark. It has inamyloid spores and the pileipellis is a cutis (partially gelatiised?) and unlike Horak's desription of A. furfuracea. Unclamped. The cap hyphae have strong brown pigments in melzers (hyaline in KOH) which I have not seen before. Many basidia have orange crystalline content in melzers, hyaline in KOH. Ditto spores. There are no obvious cystidia. Spores, excluding apiculus length=4.5-5.8µm (µ=5.2, σ=0.39), width=3.9-5.8µm (µ=4.6, σ=0.47), Q=1.0-1.3µm (µ=1.14, σ=0.08), n=20
